Spring 2026: Letter from the Director

I’ll be honest: lately the world has felt heavy. Many of us are carrying a mix of grief, uncertainty, fear, frustration, and fatigue. A world at war. A relentless news cycle. So much happening all at once.

I sometimes find myself feeling overwhelmed by it all. When that happens, I try to step back, catch my breath, and place a hand on my heart. I tune into my body and feel my feet on the floor or earth. I remember something that grounds me: the quiet but powerful role of community, both the one right in front of us and the broader human community we’re all part of.

A Community Coming Together for Peace

Recently, many of us at the Center were deeply moved following the monks “Walk for Peace” from Texas to Washington D.C. There was something incredibly powerful about witnessing their act of intention and compassion. (You may notice more than one member of our team referencing it in their resources this month — it clearly made a lasting impression on us!) It reminded me that even in difficult times, people are still showing up with courage, care, and hope in abundance.

Spring Growth at the Center

As we move into this new season, I’m feeling a lot of gratitude for the community here at the Center. Every day I get to witness small but meaningful moments of growth, healing, and connection between people. It’s a quiet kind of goodness, but it matters deeply.

I'm also excited about some wonderful momentum within our Center. Our team is growing with the addition of a new therapist (learn more about Bridget here). Our recent sound healing workshop sold out quickly, which tells me that people are craving calm, connection, and a space to gather and exhale. (If you missed it, don't worry, there's still room at our next session on May 9!) And, looking ahead, we’re planning a lineup of summer mini groups to help keep kids and families engaged, supported, and connected.

Let’s Nurture What Matters

Spring always feels like an invitation to begin again. To notice what’s growing and to nurture what matters. Thank you for being part of this community. As we face our fears with compassion and find right action, I hope you’ll bloom with us — and together, continue spreading a little more goodness into the world!

Heart-to-Heart,

Kate
