Create and Self Regulate: An Art Therapy Camp for 12-15 Year Olds

  • The Center for Family Well-Being 5039 Connecticut Ave NW., #7 Washington, DC 20008 USA (map)

JULY 28-AUG 1, 2025:

This summer, we’re offering teens a supportive and creative space to explore their emotions, build confidence, and connect with others — all through the power of art!

This art therapy group provides a lively, encouraging environment where participants ages 12-15 can use creativity as a tool for self-expression, self-reflection, and connection. Art therapy can provide:

  • A non-verbal outlet for expressing complex emotions like sadness, anger, anxiety, and frustration.

  • An effective therapeutic tool to build self esteem, grow confidence, and reduce stress

  • Support for positive social skill development by encouraging cooperation and communication.

Plus, it can be relaxing, rewarding, and fun!

During our week-long art therapy camp, activities will be tailored to the group’s needs, fostering connection while allowing each teen to explore their own creative voice. Using a variety of artistic mediums and specific themes, we’ll promote both self-reflection and group engagement. Participants will learn about art therapy as a tool for better understanding and expressing their emotions, thoughts, and experiences, while building lasting tools for personal growth and well-being.
