This 16-week expressive, experiential, and talk therapy skill-building group is for middle-schoolers, inclusive of cisgender females and transgender students. Our focus is helping participants increase self-compassion, balance moods, and reduce worries. We dive deeply into the shifting terrain of friendships, our complex feelings about social media usage, and how to build a confident self while embracing our differences — all during a developmental period brimming with pressure to assimilate.
Participants will explore their identity, including the parts that are easy for others to see and the parts that are more hidden, in order both to understand more about identities overall and to love themselves and their own identities. We explore these topics through the lens of individual values as participants build the foundations necessary to increase confidence, decrease stress, and find deeper connection in relationships.
