New Year, New Screen Habits: A Fresh Start for Families

  • The Center for Family Well-Being 5039 Connecticut Ave NW., #7 Washington, DC 20008 USA (map)
Four kids on a bench each with a device

Ring in the New Year with a fresh conversation about screens and kids. Guest parenting coach, Paige Trevor, will lead a practical (and hopeful!) talk on raising resilient kids in an anxious, screen-focused world.

In this workshop we’ll:

Explore why screens feel so irresistible for kids and teens — and what that means for family life. Shift from “just cutting screens” to adding in real-world connection, autonomy, and fun. Map out new habits: screen-free zones, device-downtime rituals, and family-friendly agreements everyone can live with.

Whether you’re parenting a 7-year-old, a tween, or a teen (or all of the above!), this workshop is designed to leave you encouraged, equipped, and excited about how you’re leading the way. No finger-wagging, no panic — just real strategies, a little grace, and a fresh perspective on nurturing your family’s well-being in the digital age.
