Building a Self-Care Routine: A Workshop for Soon-to-Be Middle Schoolers

In this two-hour workshop, soon-to-be 6th graders will discover practical tools for emotional balance, stress management, and everyday self-care. Through movement, mindfulness, and hands-on activities, tweens will learn how to regulate emotions, calm anxious thoughts, and create simple, go-to habits that support their well-being — inside and out.

Workshop details:

  • Therapist(s): Center founder & director Kate Kelly, and yoga and mindfulness instructor Linda Feldman

  • Ages: This workshop is for rising 5th graders, most will be 10-12. 

  • Date: Sunday, May 4, 2025

  • Time: 3-5 p.m.

  • Place: The Center for Family Well-Being, 5039 Connecticut Ave. NW #7 Washington DC 20008

  • Cost: $150 per person
