SPRING 2021: Spring has Sprung at the Center for Family Well-Being!
Letter from the Director
We welcome you on this occasion of the launching of our very first newsletter! We’re excited and grateful to join you (and for many of you, your kids & teens) on the journey toward optimal health, growth, and well-being. We’ve all been through so much this past year, and in the months ahead we’ll aim to fill your cup — mind, body and spirit — as we all take the next steps together. We’ll arrive in your inbox with the seasons, and plan to share — though not too much, because we know you’re busy! — about who we are, what we do, and how we embody our practices here at the Center.
In each subsequent newsletter you’ll meet one of our therapists and hear more about their offerings and integrative training. And in this issue, you’ll get to read more about your first point of contact at the Center: our wonderful intake care coordinator, Amy Murphy.
You’ll also meet our holistic partners — the practitioners we love. In this issue, we’re pleased to share the work of Belinda Baer, our Ayurvedic practitioner, who is offering a (free or by donation) Sleep Series beginning April 11th.
We’ll keep you up to date about happenings at the Center — whether it’s our meditation programs or our ongoing “In Tune” therapy group offerings for kids, teens, and adults. You’ll learn why we’re studying Polyvagal theory and talking to all of you (and your kids and teens) more than ever about your nervous systems.
Each issue will also provide “This Moment Matters,” offerings of real-life practical support —complete with quick practices and exercises to try on your own or with family. You’ll also learn about the resources our therapists are using and why.
Finally, we’re eager to share about our on-going anti-racism work and where we’re headed as a Center in our commitment to it in the future. (Read our Credo here to begin).
Our Center’s vision is to serve the whole human family in its many diverse forms! Come join us on our journey as we integrate Western psychotherapy with the wisdom of Eastern mindful awareness practice, as well as other mind-body healing methods — both ancient and modern — for the optimal well-being of kids, teens, adults, couples, and families.
We welcome your feedback along the way. And please feel free to share this newsletter with others who you think might like to learn about our Center.
With a grateful heart,
Kate Kelly, Director
