Experience
I’m an Associate Holistic Psychotherapist at The Center for Family Well-Being. My journey to the counseling field includes more than 25 years working in education nonprofits in DC, where I served adults and children struggling with reading and learning challenges, and taught mindfulness and Social/Emotional learning to students, educators, and parents. I’ve worked both individually and with small groups.
Therapeutic Focus
Using a strengths-based lens, I incorporate mindfulness, positive psychology, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients find more effective coping mechanisms. I specialize in working with anxiety, different learning styles, identity and life transition issues, trauma, and grief and loss. I work with children, teens, young adults, and adults.
In addition to individual sessions, I also facilitate a Minds In Tune group for adults based on Jon Kabat Zinn’s Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) curriculum.
Philosophy
I integrate my training in various psychotherapeutic modalities with mind/body practices — including mindfulness, breathwork, yoga, yoga nidra, and Reiki. My goal is to empower each client to find greater clarity and peace within themselves and in their relationship to others.
