Financial Communication and Planning for Parents of College-Bound Kids

Join us for a practical, confidence-building workshop to help you launch your kid’s financial future before they arrive at college. Lori Atwood, CFP® and Founder of Fearless Finance (part of Atwood Financial Planning, LLC), and Kimberly Weichbrecht, Certified Student Loan Professional®, will share essential tools to help parents navigate their child's financial journey to and through higher learning.

We are offering both in-person (limited spaces available) and virtual attendance options for this popular workshop. Please select the registration option that best fits your family and schedule below.

In this workshop, parents will learn:

  • How to talk with your kids honestly and openly about money.

  • How to have “the conversation”: Setting clear and positive expectations and boundaries around money.

  • How to set a positive example for your kid regarding financial well-being.

  • Should your kid have a credit card at school?

  • How to let your kid know you’re always there for him or her without becoming an ATM.

  • Understanding your child's aid package.

  • Understanding your and your child's student loans.

  • Discussion about where to pull money to pay for college.

  • Plus: Answers to your specific questions!
